Job Role:

The Procurement / Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing supplier relationships to support procurement needs for industrial refrigeration design-build projects. This includes sourcing materials and services, negotiating pricing and contracts, monitoring vendor performance, and ensuring timely delivery of material essential to project timelines. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and negotiation skills, a background in technical or industrial procurement, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams.

Key Duties:

  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate purchase agreements, pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors.
  • Track procurement metrics, maintain accurate purchasing records, and ensure compliance with internal policies and budget guidelines.
  • Work closely with engineering and project management to understand material requirements and lead times.
  • Manage RFQs (Request for Quotes), POs (Purchase Orders), and contract documentation.
  • Monitor supplier performance and develop improvement plans when necessary.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize sourcing strategy and supplier base.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and strategies to improve procurement efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier negotiation, and contract management.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions under time-sensitive conditions.

Preferences:

  • Experience in the refrigeration, HVAC, construction, or mechanical systems industry is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with sourcing fabricated metal components, piping, electrical materials, and mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety and environmental regulations.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
