We are currently looking for a HR Generalist to join our growing team!

JOB SUMMARY

As an HR Generalist, you will play a key role in supporting our people strategy by executing a wide range of HR functions across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the VP of HR Business Partnerships, this role is ideal for someone early in their HR career who is passionate about delivering exceptional employee experience, building strong relationships, managing HR-related projects, and learning the full spectrum of human resources in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs a broad range of routine Human Resources tasks required to administer and execute programs including but not limited to recruiting & onboarding support, performance management, recognition initiatives, and training and development.
  • Coordinates and supports cross-functional HR projects such as learning and development initiatives, talent reviews, career pathing programs, and employee engagement efforts.
  • Serve as a first-level point of contact for day-to-day HR inquiries from employees, managers, and candidates; escalate complex matters to appropriate HR team members.
  • Support multi-site laboratory management teams to ensure staffing needs are met, facilitating the hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Facilitate the successful completion of background checks and employment eligibility verifications to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate and support new hire onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a welcoming and smooth start for all new team members.
  • Supports ongoing maintenance of HR tools & systems including HRIS, careers websites, learning management and recognition systems.
  • Ownership for employee engagement and recognition initiatives that align with our mission to foster a culture of belonging, growth, and appreciation.
  • Participate in employee relations matters including disciplinary discussions, investigations, and terminations, ensuring consistent and fair practices.
  • Monitor and complete status action changes in ADP (e.g., promotions, status changes, terminations, leaves) and run standard and ad-hoc reports as needed. Help users troubleshoot system-related issues as necessary.
  • Supports the organization to remain in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; contribute to policy reviews and updates to maintain alignment with legal requirements and company values.
  • Stay informed on HR trends, employment laws, and innovations in talent management to support continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing across the team.
  • Perform additional HR-related duties as needed to support departmental goals and organizational success.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Communications, Psychology or a related field required.
  • 1+ year of internship or professional HR experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP/PHR or willingness to obtain certification is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Interest or experience in leading and/or supporting various HR project work as business needs emerge, related to learning and development, engagement, retention, recognition talent management and employee experience initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Sound judgment, integrity, and ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Working knowledge of HR principles and employment regulations.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with HRIS and applicant tracking systems is a plus, along with the ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, think innovatively, and proactively solve problems in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
