Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition, the Senior Veterinarian Recruiter (Medical Recruiting) is an integral member of MedVets doctor recruiting team and provides support and best practices for recruiting exceptional doctors who will practice the highest standard of veterinary medicine and thereby help fulfill MedVets mission of Leading Specialty Healthcare for Pets. This role is responsible for the implementation and execution of doctor recruitment for ER doctors or specialists, as assigned. The Senior Veterinarian Recruiter (Medical Recruiting) focuses on:
  • Helping to build and maintain a proactive pipeline of candidates.
  • Building credible, trusted relationships at all levels of medical leadership to understand business objectives, hiring needs and challenges.
  • Ensuring MedVet has the doctors needed to support business plans/projections across ER and specialty services.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
  • Utilizing the tools, strategies and processes to successfully meet doctor recruiting needs across multiple geographies and regions.
  • Leverage evolving sourcing channels and practices to reach candidates in nationwide markets.
  • Building, measuring, and improving the doctor hiring process and associated performance metrics.
  • Partnering closely with the Medical Services leaders to hire the right doctors in the right locations, always provide a great candidate experience.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors to maximize success in matching open positions.
  • Share MedVets unique story as a veterinary owned and let organization.
  • Partner with outside recruiting agencies when needed.
  • Independently lead and manage projects and/or provide subject matter expertise to broader HR, Medical Leaders or other business projects.
  • Offer strategic insight and analysis to hiring managers in each geographical location regarding market trends, candidate suitability and service growth opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities An exceptional Senior Veterinarian Recruiter is creative and collaborative, and is particularly adept at balancing multiple priorities/issues. In addition, this position requires:
  • A veterinarian who is either a board-certified specialist or an experienced doctor who has experience hiring and training other doctors is ideal in this position, or equivalent experience as a veterinarian recruiter.
  • A thorough understanding of the training required and clinical work expectations of Emergency and Specialty Clinicians and their individual resource requirements.
  • Ability to develop and implement recruitment strategies using traditional and non-traditional resources.
  • Ability to build and foster effective relationships with applicants, hiring managers, executives, and other team members as well as external stakeholders
  • Exceptional interviewing, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build pipelines for multiple and/or high volume positions and a thorough knowledge of all applicable federal and state employment laws.
  • Strong business acumen to be able to comprehend organization needs.
  • Substantial experience successfully influencing stakeholders at varying levels. Ability to partner with business leaders and build hiring models for new and growing hospitals.
  • Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on questioning, listening, persuading, writing and presenting, to both large and small groups, essential.
  • Ability to tell MedVets unique story in an authentic, engaging manner.
  • Strong reputation in the veterinary community, both inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to travel 25% - 40%.
