Your "Take Off" will be successful by doing the following with excellence:

  • Provides technical support, information, and training to other departments in need of skill enrichment, hazard identification awareness, and safety improvement methodologies to reduce risk and enhance productivity.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises organizational safety programs to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSHS) requirements and monitors work areas to verify programs are understood and integrated.
  • Facilitates the investigation of accidents, injuries, and illnesses to identify root cause and corrective action plan and analyzes trends to justify the allocation of resources to areas with the greatest safety risk.
  • Facilitates the direction and focus of the Safety Committee, including member selection, meetings, and routine safety inspections.
  • Stays abreast of new or pending safety regulations and standards to ensure effective compliance strategies are developed and maintained.
  • Manages and maintains the accuracy and availability of Safety Data Sheets for all chemical products used throughout the organization.
  • Serves as the liaison to Human Resources for the maintenance of regulatory safety and health records including accident & incident reports, OSHA 300 Log, industrial hygiene surveys, medical surveillance records, and employee training data.
  • Integrate safety programs with Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $95,000.00. The offered salary is evaluated using internal equity, job knowledge, skills, experience, and other key factors.

Your "Landing" will be smooth if you meet the following requirements:

  • Associate's Degree and completion of 30 Hour OSHA General Industry Training
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with OSHA programs including Hazard Communication, Lockout-Tagout, Machine Guarding, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical, Respiratory Protection, Forklifts, Aerial Lifts, Confined Space, Hearing Conservation, and Hot Work. Experience with teaching, training, and coaching others on hazard recognition and safe work practices required. Or equivalent education and years of experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver's license, in good standing.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
  • Certified Forklift Instructor preferred
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test, which includes testing for marijuana (medical marijuana cards are not acceptable)
