Spring Education Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Benefits Manager to join our team and oversee the administration and management of employee benefits for a large, multi-state organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of group benefits and 401(k) administration, strong leadership and management skills, exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a proven track record in managing leaves of absence, ADA accommodations, and workers' compensation programs.
As the Benefits Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring a competitive and compliant benefits offering, maintaining alignment with all relevant regulations and policies, and advising leadership on emerging trends and opportunities for continuous improvement. This position reports to the Senior Director of Benefits & Wellness.
**This is a hybrid role based out of our Scottsdale, AZ office.**
Key Qualifications:Were looking for someone who brings a strong blend of subject-matter expertise and leadership capabilities, particularly in:
- Group benefits and 401(k) plan administration
- Leaves of absence (LOA), ADA accommodations, and workers compensation programs
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations (ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, etc.)
- Team leadership and vendor management experience
- Advanced Excel proficiency and data analysis skills
Benefits Program Oversight
- Manage all aspects of the companys benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), leave of absence/accommodations, and workers compensation.
- Ensure benefit offerings are competitive, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.
LOA & Workers Compensation Management
- Oversee administration of leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA, etc.) and workers compensation, partnering with third-party vendors to ensure accurate tracking, compliance, and employee support.
401(k) Plan Administration
- Manage eligibility, enrollment, employer match, loans, compliance testing, annual financial audits, and participant communications.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and develop a team of benefits administrators, ensuring high-quality customer service and timely support for employees.
Open Enrollment Project Management
- Lead Open Enrollment annually from planning through execution, including vendor coordination, benefit communications, and system setup.
Benefits Operations & Compliance
- Handle day-to-day operations such as benefit enrollments, COBRA, vendor file transfers, invoice processing, ACA compliance, and audits.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable laws and internal policies.
Vendor Management & Communications
- Build strong relationships with carriers and vendors to optimize service delivery and address escalations.
Data-Driven Insights
- Analyze benefit utilization and cost data, preparing reports to guide strategic decision-making and identify improvement opportunities.
Process Optimization
- Document processes, develop employee-facing materials, and continuously assess and improve internal procedures.
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in benefits administration, including health and retirement plans
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
- Experience managing LOA and workers compensation programs
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Experience with benefits platforms (Dayforce experience is a plus)
- CEBS, CBP, or similar professional certification preferred
