Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruiting:
oDetermining recruiting sources, identifying prospects, and marketing company to candidates.
Sources may include:
Trade Schools
Industry Connections
High School Graduates
Internet Resources/Social Media
Friends/Referrals of Existing Employees
Others as Warranted/Suggested
oInterviewing Field candidates, determining skill levels, and working with Operations Department to identify where candidate would fit in Job Level/Pay Scale
oHiring Field candidates as warranted
oCreating an onboarding plan for new hires including new-hire orientation/training in which internal policies and safety training are communicated to those new recruits
oAssist in determining employee retention programs
oContinual engagement with Field employees to determine new hire progress to assure continued engagement
oWorking with Management regarding recruiting and hiring of Administrative, Supervisory, and Sales personnel
oOther Duties as Requested/Warranted
File Maintenance; Training; Benefits and Company Records:
oMaintaining Employee Files (physical and digital as necessary) including H.R. documents, benefits, employee manual, and attendance records
oClean-up/Reorganization of Employee and Medical Files
oTracking of Field Employee Drivers Licenses including MVRs and driving capabilities (and DOT Status)
oTracking of all training programs including forklift, scaffolding, lift and other rented equipment
oTracking of compliance programs such as Lead/EPA
oTracking benefit eligibility; offering to newly eligible; enrolling with benefit providers where necessary
oDetermine compliance requirements and related documentation necessary to comply with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) provisions
oOSHA recordkeeping and reporting as necessary (including catch-up documentation)
oCoordinating with Operations Department on quarterly pay and promotion reviews
oAssisting Operations Department with formal performance evaluations and any necessary disciplinary action(s)
oOther Duties as Requested/Warranted
Safety Related Items:
oCoordinating with Management and/or Safety Committee regarding OSHA compliance
oAssisting Management and Safety Committee with OSHA grants when available
oCoordinating with Operations to assure new recruits have been trained on basic fall protection as they begin employment
oWorking with Management, Safety Committee, and Operations Department on larger scale OSHA training
oAssist Operations Department with determining/implementing safety policies and procedures to be used in the field
oDocumentation of safety/OSHA training for employee files; MSDS Documentation
oOther Duties as Requested/Warranted
Garlock-French Corporation (d/b/a Garlock-French Roofing) is a residential and light commercial roofing, gutter, and sheet metal contractor started in 1932. It has been under the same management/ownership group since 1984.
This is a Full-Time Onsite Position.
Ideal candidate(s) would have minimum 2 years HR Generalist or similar experience.
