Position Description:

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for leading The Bastion Collections HR function, identifying, creating, implementing and driving key HR initiatives for The Bastion Collection and providing strategic advice, direction and expertise across The Bastion Collections HR function.

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for day-to-day HR operational needs, including overseeing the recruitment, selection and on-boarding processes for new hires, preparing and negotiating HR-related contracts, maintaining and administering equity award grants and benefit records, managing outside vendors, monitoring legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions, ensuring that the organization's policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance and providing HR advisory services with regards to leadership, coaching, employee relations, training, compliance, talent acquisition, engagement, culture, compensation, organizational design and change, performance management, learning and development.

Duties Include:

  • Drive HR operational excellence by identifying and addressing our present and future needs in areas such as benefits, compensation, compliance, onboarding, talent acquisition and other HR-related processes and systems across the organization.

  • Lead talent acquisition and new employee on-boarding, including drafting and negotiating offer letters and conduct new hire orientations and update records of new staff.

  • Build a rewarding and engaging culture where an appreciation for tradition is balanced with a passion for innovation. Define and drive values that rewards, promotes and encourages high performance throughout the organization.

  • Review and advise business leaders on best practices in organizational design, organizational development, leadership development, employee engagement and retention, performance criteria and measurement, succession planning, and talent reviews for an exempt and non-exempt workforce.

  • Develop and monitor policies that align the business goals with the HR organization but manage the complexity of federal and state labor laws where The Bastion Collection operates. Coordinate the management of HRIS data and necessary reports for critical analysis of labor costs and employment law compliance.

  • Partners with the Leadership team to develop targeted compensation strategies for the retention and growth of high potential employees. Continually assesses the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.

  • Create and implement a comprehensive long-term vision for learning & development and ensure staff are engaged, productive and prepared for future opportunities.

  • Manage all external vendor relationships including Payroll, Benefits Brokerage, Benefits Administration, etc.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other related field from an accredited university is required.

  • Professional of Human Resources or SHRM Certification preferred.

  • 5-7 years experience in strategic Human Resource leadership experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years working with New York State and NYC specific hospitality laws.

  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.

  • Must be results-oriented and demonstrate strategic thinking, innovation, flexibility in dealing with changing and ambiguous situations.

  • Demonstrated success working in a highly collaborative environment, with a track record of accomplishment with measurable business impact.

  • Excellent project management skills including successful leadership of projects from planning phase through completion.

  • Excellent leadership skills including superb communication, delivery of results, consultative skills, partnership skills and team building.
